What you should track: Prerequisites

To get through this section, you need to have Google Analytics or another, similar analytics package set up. That package needs to, at a minimum, track:

  • Referring keywords;
  • Visitors from search, and paid versus unpaid search;
  • Conversions;
  • Time on page/site;
  • Pageviews/visit.

Google Analytics, Omniture, Urchin, WebTrends, Have A Mint and similar can all handle this just fine. If you have an analytics package created in 2000, though, you may need to check.
